Kleinkrantz Beach

Kleinkrantz Beach

This beautiful stretch of beach is cherished for its unspoiled beauty. Many fond memories have been made here by holidaymakers and locals alike over the years. It's located just east of Wilderness, an evocative pocket of golden sand part of the Garden Route National Park. It offers a terrific and easy shoreline stroll covering 3,7 km. Come try it out during the day or at night, when "terrific" morphs into "magical" with a huge variety of marine life gracing the rock pools with their presence. The colourful dots of paragliders navigating the air currents are also a regular site. The beach, with its low dunes and favourable wind conditions, offers the perfect training and launching ground for this popular sport, and when airborne, one can often spot whales, pods of dolphins, and sharks. But what’s even better, you don’t have to get up in the sky to catch a glimpse of these magnificent creatures. Often, they can be seen right from the beach, especially during the whale season. Surfers and kiteboarders also favour Kleinkrantz, and anglers will find it a great fishing spot with waters that teem with various fish species. Other elements that make this beach a must-visit is the fact that it is pet-friendly – yes, you can bring Man’s best friend for a run (on a leash) along the waterline – and parking is free. This means hassle-free access to the oceanfront. Due to its gentle surf and seclusion, it’s also perfect for families and those longing to escape the hustle and bustle of the crowds.
