Garden Route Botanical Garden

The Garden Route Botanical Garden offers a beautiful sanctuary in the middle of George. These well-kept gardens display breath-taking views of the mountains with ample park area to run with your kiddies or four-legged friends. Come and explore nature in a safe environment. The sprawling botanical garden is a brilliant showcase of locally indigenous flora. As a result, animals such as butterflies, frogs and birds made it their home. All kinds of interesting and educational activities are offered throughout the year, such as the thrilling frogging nights where one might just have the good fortune to spot creatures such as the Knysna Dwarf Chameleon. It’s the perfect place for a quiet stroll and also the entry point for various hiking and mountain bike trails.  Guided tours can be arranged in advance, and the Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Centre is situated inside the garden, as well as a restaurant, IL Giardino.
