GO GEORGE is a scheduled public bus service in the City of George, aiming to provide a first-class public transport service that is reliable, affordable, safe, convenient and accessible, and contributes to a better quality of life for all.

It connects communities, boosts the economy and renders George an appealing choice to prospective businesses and investors. The fact that more people can now travel across our city, means an improvement in the quality of life for everyone.

At the heart of the project is an empowerment model that sees public transport operators who were operating minibus taxi or bus services in George forming a company to deliver the new scheduled bus service in terms of a contract.

The project forms part of the George Integrated Public Transport Network (GIPTN) and is the result of a partnership between the George Municipality, the Western Cape provincial government, the national Department of Transport and local taxi and bus operators from the George area.

A fleet of different-sized, branded GO GEORGE buses are operational across the City of George. Rolling out in phases, the first phase launched on 8 December 2014.
