The restaurant is named after the Amanita mushroom, recalling the tale of Henry Fancourt White, one of the estate’s historic owners, who was tragically poisoned by mushrooms he had foraged.
Far from ominous, Amanita pays homage to this unique piece of history while celebrating the flavors of the Garden Route. Guests can expect a locally inspired menu, featuring specialties such as Geel Vet biltong and freshly caught line fish, crafted to highlight the region’s rich culinary traditions.
