George is honored to host the annual National Male Choir Festival this September. A significant cultural event that brings together male choirs from across the nation and beyond. This renowned festival, now in its ninth year, takes place at Glenwood House School. . One of George’s most esteemed educational institutions. The event is organized by the George Male Choir. They take great pride in presenting this remarkable gathering of musical talent.
The National Male Choir Festival was first established in 2015.Born out of an initiative by the Bloemfontein Mannekoor, and has since grown into a beloved tradition. This year, the festival will feature seven distinguished choirs. The George Male Choir, Bloemfontein Mannekoor, Take Note, Cenestra Male Choir, Arbitrio, Remnant Men’s Chorale. The internationally acclaimed Travelling Voices from North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany will also feature. The inclusion of the Travelling Voices adds an international dimension to the event. Highlighting the universal appeal and power of choral music.
The festival promises an unforgettable evening. Filled with the rich harmonies and powerful voices of male choirs. Representing a wide range of ages and backgrounds. The evening will reach its pinnacle with a Mass choir performance. All participating choirs will join together on stage, creating a breathtaking celebration of the human voice and the art of choral singing.
