Outeniqua Power Van

Chug back in time aboard the Outeniqua Power Van. This trip is ideal for train lovers of all ages and offers an unbeatable insight into the region’s fascinating rail heritage. Climb aboard the vintage rail inspection trolley and relax as it sways and winds up the Outeniqua Mountains. The front bench offers panoramic views of sheer mountain slopes, dripping forests, cascading waterfalls and colourful fynbos. The Power Van departs daily from the Transnet Transport Museum. Uniondale Bowling Club

Bowls is a target sport, played on a flat grass surface. It is similar in concept to the Italian game of Bocce or the French game Petanque. A ball (bowl) is rolled toward a smaller stationary ball called a jack. The objective is to roll your bowl nearer to the jack than your opponent's bowl. Lawn Bowls can be played by people of all ages and abilities. Join the Uniondale locals in one of their favourite past-times, on Saturdays at 2:30pm or on Tuesday afternoons for Ladies Bowls. Uniondale Tuk-tuk Tours

Dirkie Coetzee is the colourful local guide from Uniondale Tours. Four guests can squash into the bright and bouncy yellow Tuk-Tuk for shorter trips. Dirkie motors leisurely around the town, offering amusing anecdotes about Uniondale. Action for every age is available at the Elevate Action Centre in George Industria. The centre offers 70 connected trampolines, totalling over 600 square metres of bouncing space. George Wildlife and Animal Park

This is an affordable, educational and fun family outing. Look a mighty lion straight in the eye from behind a safety fence and be awed by its majesty. His partner is an equally impressive white lioness. Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Centre

The Garden Route Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Centre rehabilitates injured, sick and orphaned birds of prey. Guided tours offer a rare insight into the lives of these magnificent birds. Inquisitive minds can learn fun facts about falcons, owls, buzzards and their unique adaptations. Tour guides introduce guests to over 30 rescued raptors and there is even an opportunity to hold a friendly Cape Eagle Owl.
