Bowls is a target sport, played on a flat grass surface. It is similar in concept to the Italian game of Bocce or the French game Petanque. A ball (bowl) is rolled toward a smaller stationary ball called a jack. The objective is to roll your bowl nearer to the jack than your opponent's bowl.
